Sept 12, 2021 Pastor Prep Notes

Sept 12, One on one with Jesus -

When Christians and People Disappoint - get one on one with Jesus.

Memory Verse: MATTHEW 6:31-33

31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Bible Story: Matthew 18:21-35, Luke 9:51-55,

His home town was skeptical of his stature. (Matt 13:55)

He was mocked and misunderstood by his immediate family. (John 7:5)

Followed by many, who sadly did not understand him… (John 6:26)

Rejected by those who were only willing to follow him until it got hard, (John 6:66)

Abandoned by his “team” in his most excruciating moment of vulnerability ….(Matthew 26:56)

He couldn’t even die without the sour taste of unbelief mixed with faith ….(Luke 23:39-42)

So, One on with Jesus, ask Him, “how do you live life and keep your love on…?”

moments of getting away from it all, (Mark 1:35)

knowing the people God wants to give you (John 6:44)

even an inner circle …. (Matthew 17:1)

include enemies among the people I am willing to die for (Romans 5:7-8)

but most of all make a point of spending One on one time with Father-God (John 14:13)

who is Love, who is Holy

who is Eternal, Always Present, All Knowing,

who has a different agenda and strategy than us humans do ..…

who is always faithful, even when we are faithless,

For to know Him is to love Him. And to love Him is to know your true self and live, because he lives in you.
