October 3 LOVING JESUS - IT’S A TOGETHER THING!
Message: Loving Jesus, Together. You were made for this.
Memory Verse:
I have given them the glory you gave me, so that they may be one as we are one. I am in them and you are in me. May the experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me. John 17:22-23
Bible Story: Mark 9:1-2 The Transfiguration
Reflection:
Loving Jesus it’s a “together thing”. If Jesus is our model, and he is, look at how his alone time with God also included other people. Not only did Jesus make it a priority in his life to spend one on one time with God, Jesus made a point of spending one on one time with God along with others.
I love what David says in the psalms, “I thank the Lord with all my heart as I meet with his Godly people. How amazing are the deeds of the Lord! All who delight in Him should ponder them. Everything he does reveals his glory and majesty.”
I invite you to reflect on this story and ask God, “God what are you revealing to me?” :
Jesus took Peter, James and John, and led them up a High Mountain to be alone”
As the men watched, Jesus’ appearance was transformed, …
Elijah and Moses appeared and began talking with Jesus.
Peter Explained “Rabbi, it’s wonderful for us to be here!
Let’s make three shelters as memorials …. because he didn’t really know what else to say, for they were all terrified
A cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, “This is my dearly loved son, listen to him.”
Suddenly, when they look around, Moses and Elijah were gone, and they saw only Jesus with them.
Then the story tells us, “As they went back down the mountain…. “
In brief, Jesus reveals that getting one on one with God, it’s something we can do together!
