One on One with Jesus - Seeing what God sees ….
31 “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
If God is always present, what does it mean to seek first the kingdom?
Bible Story: John 5:19-20, John12:44-49
One one one with Jesus. Through Him we become one with the Father and the Holy Spirit…”one on one”. We see how important this was in Jesus’ life on earth. We see how key it was for the disciples, especially given their previous religious experience (see last weeks bible story and message.) Knowing Jesus changes everything. And On e on one with Jesus is going to be key to our seeing and hearing what the Father is doing and saying.
In John 5 it amazes me that just as Jesus promises us “greater works”, so too the Father promised Jesus the same. And how do these things come about? Just as our two scriptures from John suggest, from spending One on one time with the Father.
Combine this truth with our memory verse and we see that seeking the kingdom first, Jesus…. and God’s righteousness, yep that comes by faith… is what we need most in life! Then the the other “needs” Jesus tells us, God will take care of. Because he knows we need them!
