Church Jesus:

the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies!

Message: CHURCH JESUS: Made Fresh Everyday of Rest!

[Table of Show Bread]

KEY SCRIPTURE: 1 PETER 2:4-6 & 9

4 You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honor.

5 And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests.[a] Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God.

……..for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

Bible Story: Luke 6:1-5 THE BREAD OF LIFE, SAYS EAT THE BREAD!

Reflection:

Jesus said, Father, “just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world.” Jn 17:18.

Our journey into the world begins from time in The Holy of Holies. Time with Father, Son and Holy Spirit and the angels. Time spent in the pure revelatory Presence of God. But our call is to go into the world! So,as we move from the Holy of Holies we emerge from behind the curtain into the Holy Place. There we discover some key elements that will help us to minister to God! It’s all part of our mission. We minister to God and God ministers to the people around us!

The first thing that catches my attention is that smell of fresh made bread, mmmmmmm. It’s the “show bread”, one for every tribe. Made fresh everyday of “Rest”.… or Shabbat

Remember, in the Old Covenant, only the Priests were allowed to eat this bread. It was to them a reminder of God’s provision and care for the Israelites in the wilderness.

How does Jesus change all that? Read Luke 6:1-5. THE BREAD OF LIFE HIMSELF SAYS EAT THE BREAD!!!! How do we know this? Because we are told “David was a man after God’s own heart!” (1 Samuel 13:14) But see to that Jesus himself encourages us to eat the true bread from Heaven (jn 6:32).

Who knew? Feasting on God’s Son, reminding ourselves of God’s provision, it ministers to the heart of God!!!! THANK YOU JESUS!

CHURCH JESUS … It satisfies the soul. At the same time it blesses the heart of the Father!!!!!!
