November 7 Church Jesus:
the Holy Place and the Holy of Holies!
Message: CHURCH JESUS: Where is it?
[Ark of the Covenant]
KEY SCRIPTURE: 1 PETER 2:4-6 & 9
4 You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honor.
5 And you are living stones that God is building into his spiritual temple. What’s more, you are his holy priests.[a] Through the mediation of Jesus Christ, you offer spiritual sacrifices that please God.
……..for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

Reflection:
Priests’ minister to God. How you might ask? The Old Covenant Priest had specific ways to minister to God. I’m using the word minister to mean doing things that please God’s heart. You could use the word “worship” if that works better for you. Anyway, these priests had duties related to the tabernacle. These “duties” will help us understand how we as new covenant priests get to minister to God. Remember, it was only the Priests who could enter the Holy Place and only the High Priest could enter the Holy of Holies. JESUS CHANGED ALL THAT!
So when Peter says “you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession” something radically new has happened. NEW COVENANT
CHURCH JESUS- where is it? IN YOU!!!! For the one’s who know they are loved by Jesus our role as “royal priests” begins in the Holy of Holies! (Heb 10:22).
My buddy Caleb had this amazing revelation one day. The “ark of the Covenant” is like the casket for the old covenant. That’s not to say God doesn’t want us to see His plan for Church Jesus revealed in the Ark.
