October 24 LOVING JESUS - IT’S A TOGETHER THING!

Reflection:
Our Selah Fire “tag” is “Real Rest. Real Life. Real Freedom”. That’s what we get to experience because of knowing Jesus. And that experience we get share with others.
That experience Jesus gives us is relationship with the One who is love (1John 4:8). God’s love becomes our mission.
I love how Jesus lays it out so clearly. In John’s Gospel he says this,
20 “I am praying not only for these disciples but also for all who will ever believe in me through their message.
21 I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.
22 “I have given them the glory you gave me, so they may be one as we are one.
23 I am in them and you are in me. May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me.
I don’t know about you but I am just “rattled” when Jesus reveals his heart, “that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me”….. Jesus’ heart is that our lives lead people into the kind of relationship we have with God through knowing Jesus Christ. And that through that relationship, people will discover how deeply loved they are by God. Amazing. Helping others experience God’s Love is our mission.
How do we do it you ask? It all begins just like it did with the first disciples. One freind introduces another friend to Jesus. I want to be that kind of friend.
