“JESUS DID WHAT HE DID BECAUSE HE KNEW

WHO HE WAS!”

Quote by Laurie Langdon from his book He is— I am

The angel replied, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the baby to be born will be holy, and he will be called the Son of God.

Luke 1:35

THE POWER OF DECLARATION.

Bible Story: Creation Story —Genesis Chapter 1 “Then God said,….”

Psalm 33:9 For when he spoke, the world began. It appeared at his command.

Romans 12:2 Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God

transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.

Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and

pleasing and perfect.

A DIVINE OPPORTUNITY: Keep working on the “I AM” declarations of Jesus.

Reflection for Parent(s): Every home a house of praise!

Years back, I went to visit a freind. As I walked into the house I immediately saw their little baby, cute and beautiful. The next thing I saw was this unbelievable torrent of vomit fill the room. “WOW, what a little puker.” I declared.

I will never forget Mom’s response to my words. “Only words of life will be spoken over my baby!” This mom knew. She knew words are powerful. Scripture is clear, “gentle words bring life and health; a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit” (Proverbs 15: 4). This mom knew the power of words! Words of Life is what she wanted for her baby. That mom knew God’s heart! And the truth that words have power, “the tongue has the power of life and death” (Proverbs 18:21).

Words have creative power in them. Proverbs 16:24 supports this as well. The author affirms that “kind words are like honey— sweet to the soul and healthy for the body.”

So consider the words God speaks. You can’t read the creation story in Genesis and not see that when God speaks things happen! Isaiah affirms this truth when God speaks saying, “It is the same with my word. I send it out and it always produces fruit. It will accomplish all I want it to, and it will prosper everywhere I send it.” Yes the “word of the Lord, does not return empty”. Let’s align ourselves with the Word of God and speak His Truth over us.

You may have noticed Laurie is providing us with declarations. The Word of the Lord, words that we can declare over ourselves. Let these declarations begin to provide the substance for our identity in Christ. What God declares, comes to life! Only Words of LIFE spoken over my children. That’s God’s heart. May it be ours as well.
