My son had gone out to plough snow for someone this past week. Before he could get to his task, he realized that a neighbor was struggling to create a drain so the water would run away from his house. Without hesitation, he started helping the neighbor and before long became engaged in conversation. While the conversation seemed natural, there was a sense that God’s presence was all around. God is at work in the common stuff.
In a different context, my son loves on-line gaming. The game host had encountered some serious family issues and found it necessary to be absent for a season. It had been a while but my son ran into him just recently and became engaged in conversation. It was a beautiful time of connecting, where the person was able to engage in a meaningful way about real life circumstances. This is another example of how God is at work in the common stuff.
