This Week's Focus:

LOVING JESUS

IT’S A TOGETHER THING!

The Enemy is Defeated!

What do WE do with that?

Family Assignment #1

Hero Night was created to make the focus Jesus on a night that celebrates darkness. The light that shines in the darkness and is not overcome.

We imagined, witch, goblins, superhero’s, vampires and the whole mix coming into contact with the saving delivering power of Jesus. Each year it was a prophetic declaration of the Goodness of God.

How might you do convey to your children the same message in your home this weekend?

#2  PARENTS DO THIS FOR YOUR KIDS!

Help you kids learn the tactics of being in Christ confronted by the enemy’s schemes. Look carefully at the strategy Jesus reveals when tempted in the wilderness. Then when you do the Night time story, help your kids, internalize for themselves the victory that is ours in Jesus!

#3 Night Time Bible Story

Matthew 4:1-11  Jesus Defeats the enemy

This Week's Focus:

LOVING JESUS

IT’S A TOGETHER THING!

Real Rest. Real Life. Real Freedom!

God’s Love, our Mission!

#1 Night Time Bible Story:  John 1:35-51

As you read this story, help your kids begin to understand how Holy Spirit revelation plays a role in helping others to get to know Jesus. For example, John the Baptist shared with his friends the revelation he experienced concerning Jesus (you’ll have to read, John 1:29-34). But his one experience trigger a whole ripple affect of one friend telling another and so on, and so on… :)

See too that getting to know Jesus involves just spending time with him (v39). How many things are in this passage the can you help learn about loving Jesus and what it is to share Jesus with your friends?

#3 Bedtime Story: Acts 4

#2  PARENTS DO THIS FOR YOUR KIDS!

Parents, do you kids know your story? Specifically, can you share how people you know helped you get to know Jesus personally. Jesus’ changed Peter’s name. What did Jesus say or do to you that changed your world?

#3 Take a moment to say "Thanks!"

Spend some time thanking God for the people he has put in your life who play a role in helping you to know Jesus and realize how much God loves you! Then thank Jesus for praying that your life would lead others to him, so they too can know how much they are loved by God.

LOVING JESUS

IT’S A TOGETHER THING!

Confessing Sin Together! It Heals.

FAMILY ASSIGNMENT #1:

Parents, let's model to our children what it means to confess our sins to one another. When you loose your temper, slip a an f-bomb or something like that…. when anger gets the better of you, confess it right away (Ephesians 4:26).

#2  PARENTS DO THIS FOR YOUR KIDS!

Brain storm ways to help you children, trust you. Trust you so much so that they feel safe confessing sin to you.  Let’s help them discover that it’s your kindness that makes confession a beautiful thing. And God’s forgiveness that is just as miraculous as any physical healing!

#3 Night Time Bible Story: Mark 2:1-12

If forgives is as miraculous as commanding a lame man to walk, why wouldn’t we want to get the one’s we love into the presence of Jesus, confessing our sins together. Real friends “go through the roof for one another.” Loving Jesus, confessing sin, experiencing His forgiveness, it’s a together thing! A miracle we all get to share!

Giving Thanks Together

Heaven on Earth!

Family Assignment #1:

Take a moment with your loved one’s to celebrate and give thanks for all God has done!

#2  PARENTS DO THIS FOR YOUR KIDS!

Parents take time this weekend to thank your children for who they are! Highlight the fact that you see amazing things in them. Things that reveal God. Thank them for that!

#3 Bedtime Story: Acts 4

When you read Acts 4 you might highlight the miracle Jesus did that got Peter and John thrown into Jail. Together, notice how Peter, John and all the other believers continue to live a lifestyle of “thanksgiving” even when they are not treated well by others. Encourage your kids that we can live a joy filled, thankful life because we live our lives with Jesus … Together.

Parents meditate on the verses from 1 Thessalonians from today’s message. See if you can apply them at home and throughout your week wherever you are.

Something a little different to “Soak” to….  a nurse sings Magaret’s favourite song.   Together they find peace, comfort and courage for Margaret” who has cancer. It’s a sad story but one that shows that together we can sing no matter what. Thank you Jesus!  For a little more traditional video check out “I thank God” by Maverick City

Family Assignment #1:

Night Time Bible Story

Bible Story:   Mark 9:1-2  The Transfiguration -one on one with God, Together!

This week first share the story with your kids about how Jesus got “alone” with God and his closest “people”.

Talk about all the cool and crazy things in this story.  … it should  inspire praise mixed with lots of questions too.

#2  PARENTS DO THIS FOR YOUR KIDS!

Plan to have your family have a moment when you get to sneak away to be alone with God, together!

#3 Celebrate The Moment

Celebrate the moment “on the Mountain” as you lead them back to life on earth!

Follow Jesus’ lead, talk to your kids about “our” together time alone with God. At the same time prepare your kids for the life that awaits them “back down the mountain”. Just like Jesus did with his dear ones.
