Your home, a place of heavenly encounter and
a mission from heaven to earth!
This Week's Focus:
He Is Truth
I Am Sure!
Family Assignment #1:
STICKY NOTE APPLICATION!
Have we got this verse memorized?
Of course we do!
And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
Talk about how focusing on the things listed above can really help you each day, everyday, and forever. Do a little Phil 4:8 “review” - what things have you fixing your thoughts on this week!
#2 PARENTS DO THIS FOR YOUR KIDS!
New Truths I Never Knew!

Let’s continue to inspire our kids to experience a world of awe and wonder! Family, because of Jesus, we get to “LIVE EACH DAY WITH HOLY AWE AND REVERENCE”, 1 Peter 1:17 TPT!!!
THE FOREVER TRUTH THAT WE KNOW CHANGES OUR DAY, EVERDAY, FOREVER!!!!
***How’s that shift doing —by now you’re getting good at encouraging your children to discover some new “truth” - something “true” that they never knew before!
Here is one example of how this emphasis above has been a blessing in my life. I went camping, one on one, with my eldest daughter Abbey. Something we have done since she was able to hike a trail. This was a “last”, I love you and good-bye time before she heads to another country and continent to start a new life with her hubby Curtis. At the campfire, she shares with me all that she has “discovered on her own, about Jesus”. My heart swells with joy, amazement, and peace.
That’s my prayer for all of us as parents. Keep up the great work of nurturing your kids to seek after and discover for themselves the “forever Truth” who in actuality “finds” and “saves” us. Keep on Loving Jesus and the people he gives you, today, everyday, and forever!
Remember, you can always make a connection with the everyday to our “forever” Truth. When I watch movies, especially sappy ones, my girls always look over to me, “dad are you crying”??! Seems to give them great joy to see me cry. Truth be said, I cried myself to sleep the night we said Goodbye to Abbey and Curtis. Warm hot tears. Why are my tears so hot? I wondered? Yep, still looking for truth?
It reminded me of a social worker freind who went to a conference. There they learned that tears associated with painfulful emotions “removed” from the body a poison strong enough to kill a rat. Weird, but true…. Again, this truth truth reminds me of our forever truth and the fact that He made us, “fearfully and wonderfully made” Psalm 139:14. God designed the human body in such a way that even tears can get rid of harmful poisons that emotions can create within our body. …. Wow God Your’ amazing.
the Big thing in all this, as best you can keep encouraging your kids to spend TIME WITH JESUS :) ……
#3 Night Time Bible Story
The Truth Delivers.
Bible Story: John 6:60-69 Where would we go? —Our Forever Truth Changes today.

Today I’m going to speak of Jesus as our “forever truth”. The eternal Truth we know, He is alive. He listens. He speaks. He knows more about me or you than we know about ourselves (Jeremiah 1:5). He knows things before we speak (Ps 139:4). Not only has He created everything in heaven and earth, (Col 1:16) He created you and I in our mothers womb (psalm 139:13-14). And it doesn’t stop at creation. Knowing “our forever truth” radically changes today, everyday, forever.
Read John 6:60-69
Peter in his letters says that sometimes what the apostle Paul writes is hard to understand. Well the same might be said of these words in John’s Gospel.
I’d like to suggest, simply speaking, when Jesus is taking about daily bread, or the true bread from Heaven it’s an invitation to live each day in relationship with Him. In his own words, Jesus calls us into relationship saying, “I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6). This relationship is a one where we will discover that our “Forever Truth changes today.” Simon Peter’s “today” is changed forever, “Lord to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life.” Eternal life, the truth we get from knowing Jesus, its a relationship that can change (shape) your today, everyday, forever!
Share with your kids how this story touches your heart. Ask them how it touches theirs. And amidst the conversation, see if you can tap into what Peter is trying to express to Jesus in verses 68-69. Try and share with your kids the impact and change that knowing Jesus has brought into your life…. I think you’ll agree, our forever truth, Jesus, changes how I live, today, everyday and forever.

Let’s continue to inspire our kids to experience a world of awe and wonder! Family, because of Jesus, we get to “LIVE EACH DAY WITH HOLY AWE AND REVERENCE”, 1 Peter 1:17 TPT!!!
***SHIFT IN TEACHING STRATEGY THIS WEEK—by now you’re getting good at encouraging your children to discover some new “truth” - something “true” that they never knew before! Now start that subtle introduction of how their pursuit of “truth” fit’s with Scripture. What do I mean? Let’s say your kids love to discover truths about nature. Make the link with Scripture. For example, “Child of mine (your childs name) , I love your love of nature! Did you know the bible says since the world was made, nature (creation) reveals who God is (Rom1:20) , yep its true, pretty cool eh… (then quickly shift attention back to the thing they are fascinated with)…. “now show me that spider you’ ve been saving for mom!” …. Parents, enjoy watching your kids learn! You got this! And God has got you and your family! :)

Jesus’ final words to his mom… Truth comforts
John 19:25-27 (New Living Translation)
Standing near the cross were Jesus’ mother, and his mother’s sister, Mary (the wife of Clopas), and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother standing there beside the disciple he loved, he said to her, “Dear woman, here is your son.” And he said to this disciple, “Here is your mother.” And from then on this disciple took her into his home.

On what might have been Jesus’s toughest moment on earth, He was still looking out for others-especially his mom. Share this story with your kids to show them The Truth Comforts. Talk about what this moment might mean to his mom and to John. As you are talking about this, share with your family how Jesus has met you to in tough moments. Then in prayer thank God for how The Truth, Jesus, is always there forever, to comfort us….

If you are curious about the dedication at the end of the video, check out Ann Wilson’s story below, it fits in nicely with today's bible story … (**Parents just a heads up, it involves talking about a tragic death of a family member…)

This verse practically invites us to do a negativity fast! Remind your kids of the story I told last week of how the human brain needs 7 positive words after one negative word to “recover”. Let’s invite God to help us train the brain to focus on the things that bring joy, healing and life to our lives… Philippians 4:8.
#2 PARENTS DO THIS FOR YOUR KIDS!
New Truths I Never Knew!

Let’s continue to inspire our kids to experience a world of awe and wonder! Continue to encourage your children to discover some new “truth” - something “true” that they never new before!
As they get better and better at discovering new truths, in you own way, nurture them in such a way that they will automatically see what is honorable, right, pure, lovely, admirable. Think how important and impact you will have on your children’s future if they learn to keep their minds truly attuned to things that are excellent and worthy of praise.
SAME HINT AS LAST WEEK: TIME RESTING WITH JESUS’ IS KEY……
#3 Night Time Bible Story
The Truth Delivers.
LUKE 8:1-3 The Truth Delivers.
Soon afterward, Jesus began a ministry tour throughout the country, visiting cities and villages to announce the wonderful news of God’s kingdom. His twelve disciples traveled with him 2 as did a number of women who had been healed of many illnesses and set free from demonic power. One of the women was Mary who was from the village of Magdala, from whom Jesus had cast out seven demons. Among the women were Susanna and 3 Joanna, the wife of Chusa, who managed King Herod’s household. Many other women who supported Jesus’ ministry from their own personal finances also traveled with him. (The Passion Translation)

Read this story then ask you kids questions about Jesus? These three verses are incredible. Our first bed time story was that the Truth (Jesus) heals. Then the Truth (Jesus) forgives. And this week you can explore how the Truth (Jesus) delivers. Look at how Jesus lived. Look at who were his followers, see the diversity of men and women that were impacted greatly by meeting Jesus. Share with your child(ren) how you too have experience “deliverance” because of your relationship with Jesus. Give Him Praise!

New Truths I Never Knew!

Do you know what “truths” make your kids come alive? Every child is different. So the truths that speak to them will differ from child to child. Without getting religious, see if you can encourage your children to discover some new “truth” - something “true” that they never knew before!
As they get better and better at discovering new truths, in your own way, nurture them to see what is honourable, right, pure, lovely, admirable. Help them discover how to keep their minds truly attuned to things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

LUKE 5:1-11 The Truth Forgives.
Read this story then ask your kids questions about Jesus. What happened that night? Why did Peter re-act the way he did. What did he learn that day? Then get personal with you kids share amongst your family how you too have had moments like that with Jesus. Tell them what if feels like when you feel like Peter and Jesus responds like he does. …. Pretty amazing stuff.

Do you know what “truths” make your kids come alive? Every child is different. So the truths that speak to them will differ from child to child. Without getting religious, see if you can encourage your children to discover some new “truth” - something “true” that they never "new" before!

When I first moved to Drayton I visited this sweet woman. She took me to her garden. She was showing the beans and tomatoes and then said, “There are the potatoes.” I asked where, she said right there, under the earth! Out of my city boy mouth came these words, “OOO That’s why potatoes are so dirty!!!” A truth I never knew; potatoes grow underground!

What new thing can your children learn? Moms / Dads, pay attention to the “truths” they discover. You might be surprised at what God is speaking to you through your children.
#3 Night Time Bible Story
The Truth Heals.

Matthew 9: 20 - 22 (NIRV)
Just then a woman came up behind Jesus. She had a sickness that made her bleed. It had lasted for 12 years. She touched the edge of his clothes. She thought, “I only need to touch his clothes. Then I will be healed.”

Jesus turned and saw her. “Dear woman, don’t give up hope,” he said. “Your faith has healed you.” The woman was healed at that moment.

Read this story then talk about how you to have seen Jesus healing power / or share how you to are in pursuit of Jesus just like the woman in the story… no matter what you, like the woman want what, Jesus has!
