HE IS - I AM : LIVING OUT OF MY IDENTITY IN CHRIST!

HE IS GOOD —I AM FIRST CLASS.

I am fully convinced, my dear brothers and sisters, that you are full of goodness. You know these things so well you can teach each other all about them.

Romans 15:14

May 9 He is - I am. Good -overflowing with ease (rivers)

It is not a work I have to force myself to do. His spirit is in me, and goodness is the most common outcome of who I am. Wherever I stand, goodness is there, wherever I go, goodness follows, and wherever I sit, goodness abides. p. 54

Bible: John 7:37-39 —Jesus promise: rivers of living water

Jesus makes this comment at the end of the Feast of Booths. Have a look at the songs people would sing at this time: Psalm 113-118

Take a peak too at the rook in the wilderness that overflows with the Goodness of God.

Ex 17:6; Num 20:10; Ps78:15-17; Ps105:41; 1 Cor 10:4

Reflection:

The Goodness of God overflows with ease in my life in Christ because of Holy Spirit.

Jesus gives us a promise, “out of the believers heart shall flow rivers of living water.” I’d like to suggest it points to a life of ease. Just like our community name, “selah fire” implies, resting in God’s presence, “selah” precedes “fire”. It is from this place of rest that the fire, power and passion of God comes from. (see Acts 1:8)

Irwin McManus once said, everyone wants a miracle in their life. He then added, they just don’t want the circumstance that requires one. To say that is to say that the life of “ease” of which I speak is not without it’s difficulties.

BUT, i am convinced there is a power that is to flow with ease from within every believer. It’s a promise of Jesus’. This “flow” will always reveal the goodness of God. And the flow Jesus was referring to when he spoke of the river of living water, is the promise of a life lived in the presence and power of the Holy Spirit!

Take hold of Paul’s enthusiastic reminder and declaration,

The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you. Romans 8:11

If that is not “good” i don’t know what is! So good, it makes my life “first class!”
