Let Peter help you get closer to Jesus!
Jesus gives Peter a God purpose and destiny!

Finally we’ll highlight that Jesus brings to Peter a “God purpose and Destiny” that becomes the new normal for Peter and his friends time on earth. It’s why we celebrate our verse to remember, we get to live this way forever!
Today’s Scripture: 1 Peter 1:24 what “word of the Lord” remains forever?
Reflection:
Jesus uses Peter’s life to set the stage for God’s Purpose and God’s Destiny to be realized in Peter’s life and the lives of those around him, “from now on you’ll be fishing for people”!
How it happen’s is all all summed up in Luke 5:1-11. It begins with trusting Jesus with your stuff. That opens up a heavenly portal. The power of heaven is released upon the earth, in your life. The Goodness of God is revealed. You are humbled and blessed beyond all measure. God trusts you with His stuff!
And today we celebrate the crowning moment of this glorious invasion of heaven to earth that Jesus brings to us, a purpose and a destiny from God for you! Jesus puts it this way, “from now on you’ll be fishing for people”. Think of it in these terms, fishing for people, trucking for people, Doctoring for people, collecting garbage for people, singing for people, writing for people, fixing things for people, building things for people, inventing things for people, secretary-ing for people, all the while trusting Jesus with your stuff, with your life, and in the process learning how much God trusts you—you know this because he tells, “do not be afraid”… “from now on” you will “love Jesus and live” knowing through him God is giving you a purpose and a destiny that will last forever.
How do know this? Because “the word of the Lord remains forever. And that word is the Good News that was preached to you! “ 1 Peter 1:25. Peter knows this. And if you’ll let him, Peter is keen to share this with you so that you too may get closer to Jesus. It’s that relationship that will allow you to fulfill all that God has planned for you—your God purpose and destiny. All this of course doesn’t just come from paying attention to Peter alone. It will come of course through the power of the Holy Spirit working in you as you read Peter’s letters. Even so, how Glorious is that!
