He is Holy — I belong exclusively to Him!
But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can show others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light.

Feb 21 He is - I am. Holy FREE - from the consequence and power of sin

Reflection:
Our “Banner” for Selah Fire is “Real Rest. Real Freedom. Real Life!” There is a rest that can only be found in Jesus. And with that rest comes real freedom. Living in this freedom is the real, authentic, life God wants to give us in Christ. “Your real life is hidden with Christ in God” Colossians 3:3.
Please take time to “soak” in the reality of the words found within Colossians 3:1-11. They speak of all that God has made possible for us. It is why the author encourages us whole heartedly to “put on your new nature and be renewed as you learn to know your Creator and become like him” (Colossians 3: 10).
There is an incredible cultural transformation that comes with being a “chosen people” a “royal priesthood”, a “holy nation” and “God’s very own possession”. But that is the focus for next week. For today, let’s just remember, “If the son, sets you free, you are truly free” (john 8:36).
When God choses you, like he chose Israel, He set a people apart to be His own. In Christ we too have been set free from slavery. Jesus explained it this way in John chapter 8:
31 Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings. 32 And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
33 “But we are descendants of Abraham,” they said. “We have never been slaves to anyone. What do you mean, ‘You will be set free’?” 34 Jesus replied, “I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave of sin. 35 A slave is not a permanent member of the family, but a son is part of the family forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you are truly free.
My “Forever Family” is my rest, my freedom and my life. It’s true, “if the son sets you free, you are truly free”! Thank You Jesus!
