Hebrews 3:3-6 (The Passion Translation)
But Jesus is worthy to receive a much greater glory than Moses, for the one who builds a house deserves to be honoured more than the house he builds. Every house is built by someone, but God is the Designer and Builder of all things.
Indeed, Moses served God faithfully in all he gave him to do. His work prophetically illustrates things that would later be spoken and fulfilled. But Christ is more than a Servant, he was faithful as the Son in charge of God’s house. And now we are part of His house if we continue courageously to hold firmly to our bold confidence and our victorious hope.

Reflection:
Sometimes when a house is built, over time people come to admire the house and the builders more the one who actually had it built. The Builder of God’s House according to Hebrews is greater than angels and even Moses. And the Builder is God…. Jesus..THE WORD.… So more important than the angels or even Moses is God himself-the actual builder of “The House” / people of God! Don’t forget this the author is telling us.
That’s why we’re told, “Jesus is worthy to receive a much greater glory than Moses”. Because in fact He is the “Designer and builder of all things”, “for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on the earth” (Col 1:16)
So when we look at our Gospel Story and hear Jesus say, “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock” Matthew7:24. Think about it, God -THE MOST WISE ONE IN THE UNIVERSE - makes Jesus the “cornerstone” of His House. “And that rock was Christ” 1 Cor 10:4. Or as Paul says,
20 Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. 21 We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord. 22 Through him you Gentiles are also being made part of this dwelling where God lives by his Spirit. Ephesians 2:20-22
Tempted to return to the revelation given by angels and served by Moses, Hebrews says to the people don’t do it, honour Jesus more! Keep your faith in Jesus, Moses and the angels, yes they faithfully serve God. But in such a way as to prophetically illustrate” the priority of God’s Son coming into the world! Let the Builder have the glory he deserves. Keep you faith in Jesus strong. It’s because of Jesus that, now we are part of His house if we continue courageously to hold firmly to our bold confidence and our victorious hope. Hebrews 3:6
