Unshakeable

COMPASSION

REMINDER: Ask GOD FOR GOD’S WORD FOR YOU IN 2023

A Verse to Remember:

28 Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. 29 For our God is a devouring fire. Hebrews 12:28-29

Gospel Story: Matthew 9:35-38 Jesus Moved with Compassion

Today’s Scripture:

Keep on loving each other as brothers and sisters. 2 Don’t forget to show hospitality to strangers, for some who have done this have entertained angels without realizing it! 3 Remember those in prison, as if you were there yourself. Remember also those being mistreated, as if you felt their pain in your own bodies. Hebrews 1:1-3

Reflection:

Hebrews 12 ended with the declaration that “we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakeable:” BAM!

Ponder that for a moment. An “unshakeable” Kingdom. Let that truth wash over you. Let it go deep into your heart, body and mind… God’s Kingdom has come and we now live, move and have our being in an unshakeable Kingdom. It’s true what the old hymn helps us to see and understand, “kings and kingdoms will all pass away but there’s something about that name”. So how does living in an unshakable kingdom shift things for you and me in 2023?

As we begin 2023 Hebrews 13 provides for us with some very practical reminders about what it is to live on earth connected to Jesus and His “unshakeable” Kingdom! Holy Spirit use January 2023 to lay the ground work for an “unshakeable” life in Jesus Christ, now and for all eternity!

Today, the first unshakable Kingdom reality we shall highlight is “UNSHAKEABLE COMPASSION”-it’s a sign of the kingdom! Roman’s 14:7 says, “the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.” Everywhere Jesus went “he was moved with compassion”. I’d like to suggest that Jesus represents for us a life lived with “unshakable compassion”. Just follow him form the cradle to the grave and i think you’ll agree. “Goodness and Peace” along with the “joy in the Holy Spirit” were expressed even to his last breath.Through all the nitty gritty of life, in Christ, you and I get to experience the unshakable compassion of our King and Kingdom.

So read again,Hebrews 13:1-3. Reflect on “Word” God gave you for 2023. Then like Mary who treasured the prophetic word in her heart concerning her son, may we too make the connection the word God has given us for 2023 and the unshakable compassion revealed in God’s Kingomd. It is ours to experience and share with others as we live in Christ— this year and forever let’s do life on earth, as citizens of heaven, true ambassadors of God’s “unshakeable Kingdom”- filed and overflowing with unshakable compassion.
