But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day, says the Lord: I will put my laws in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.

And they will not need to teach their neighbors, nor will they need to teach their relatives, saying, ‘You should know the Lord.’ For everyone, from the least to the greatest, will know me already.

And I will forgive their wickedness, and I will never again remember their sins.”
13 When God speaks of a “new” covenant, it means he has made the first one obsolete. It is now out of date and will soon disappear.
Reflection:
What does life look like if this new covenant God speaks of in Jeremiah becomes a reality?Meditate on just these verses alone and what do you see. Ponder them deeply. They are true and they are realized through faith in Jesus Christ.
This new covenant changes everything. It’s the “way” to live… in relationship with God and with others. Jesus’ “new” ministry in heaven truly makes this possible. It changes our life on earth. His “return” brings heaven to earth the way God always wanted it, from the beginning. Look at those verses from Jeremiah again and again, and again. Let something shift within your spirit. In Christ let what is “finished” be your starting line. We say yes to God’s work on earth! Yes to this new way of doing life with God..all because of what has happened in the true place of worship!
