Unshakeable

BLESSING

A Verse to Remember:

28 Since we are receiving a Kingdom that is unshakable, let us be thankful and please God by worshiping him with holy fear and awe. 29 For our God is a devouring fire. Hebrews 12:28-29

Gospel Story: John 20:19-23 Jesus “breathed on them” ….

Today’s Scripture: Now may the God of peace—who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood—may he equip you with all you need for doing his will.

May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.

I urge you, dear brothers and sisters, to pay attention to what I have written in this brief exhortation I want you to know that our brother Timothy has been released from jail. If he comes here soon, I will bring him with me to see you.Greet all your leaders and all the believers there. The believers from Italy send you their greetings.May God’s grace be with you all. Hebrews 13:20-25

Reflection:

I want you to consider the power of God’s blessing. It’s a theme that runs throughout Scripture. God’s blessings start with creation (Gen 1:28-31). Another oft repeated blessing of God is the one God gave to Abraham. God’s plan was to bless Abraham so that “all peoples on the earth will be blessed by you.”

In Christ, we see the fulfilment of God’s promise and blessing to Abraham. Hebrews has already revealed our connection to the faith of Abraham. We are a people of the promise. And we are a people who in Christ receive “a kingdom that is unshakable”.

So I encourage you to read the blessing quoted above, as well as the one in our Gospel story. Let Holy Spirit lead you into an “unshakable” confidence that the blessing your receive in Christ is unshakable. And just like the author of Hebrews, through Christ you to have the power to bless others with the unshakable blessing of Heaven that comes through faith in Jesus!

Your unshakable blessing is a “great commission” that is as unshakable as the one who gives it. :)

JESUS CHRIST IS THE SAME YESTERDAY AND TODAY AND FOREVER. HEBREWS 13:8
